I am continuing to have so much fun with my new camera. I take a lot of photos, trying to find some really good ones for the fair.

So I had a birthday...

Monday I headed to my parents' to have lunch for my birthday.

Tuesday was my actual birthday. I turned 34. It was a wonderful day. Paul bought me a new digital camera so I've been playing with it.

That night I hosted Bunko, so I was assured people showing up at my party! I handed out goodie bags. I served "food on a stick"... teriyaki chicken kabobs, fruit kabobs, ice cream bars. It was so much fun!!
This is my birth-minute photo courtesy of Karen. 7:42!

Frustration in me

I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to log in! Grr. They upgraded and I don't have a gmail account, so I hijacked Paul's. Then everytime I logged in, I got Karen's blog. I finally think I got it. urgh.

So I painted part of the dining room today. I'm sick of brown carpet, brown walls, and brown furniture. I got a $2.50 can of mis-mixed paint and did one wall.

Secret Shopping

SSsshhhh... don't tell anyone but I'm a secret shopper. I usually do ones just around the area or plan one when I go to Hermiston, but this weekend was different. I've done several gas station audits and they pay $14 + $2 reimbursement for a purchase. An employee from Shop 'n Chek called me a week ago and asked if I'd go to La Grande, an hour away, for 2 audits. I have to walk around, take pictures of signs, pumps, and anything that is 'wrong' (dirty bathrooms, hand-written signs, etc). I told them how far it was to go, so they upped the payment to $20. I was fine with that. $40 for one day is pretty good. Plus I'd get some alone time with Karen. Immediately after I get off the phone, another employee calls and asks if I'd do it, and she'd give me $25 each! So I pulled in $50.

Today I got another call for an audit in Dayton, 45 minutes the other way. $40! I have 2 in Hermiston and 1 in Pendleton for Thursday that are secret shops. My parents will watch Curtis for those.

Groundhog's day

I don't care what Phil says... it's still very COLD here!! We did get up to 40* today, but it has already dropped to 30* and it's 6:30.

Today was my last day of work at the church. I feel called to be a stay at home mom. I have beren working for over 3 years. I worked my entire pregnancy and the whole 2 years Curtis has been breathing oxygen. I feel it's time. This will also allow us to take in younger foster kids since at the moment we are strictly grade-school.

I did have a very hard time leaving. I packed up my last things, said "See you Sunday" to Pastor and left before I cried. I'm such a sap!!

My baby is growing up

Karen got her ears pierced today. She's been asking us for a year and we finally deemed her ready.

Baby Boy Begins Being Two.

I'm not as good at alliteration as my Mom, but I try!

Curtis turned 2 today. I'll share a couple pictures and will try to get more up soon.

The first picture is his Birth-Minute photo. Exactly 2 years old.

His igloo cake.

Blowing out the candles.
mmmmm

Big Boy Room

We finally decided it was time to move out the cribs (we still had Syndey's in there) and move Curtis to the twin. That was our New Year's Day project. He was pretty thrilled and was dancing all over the place. Naps have been a bit of a struggle, but night time has been easy.... so far!

Mmmm...chocolate

Last year, for the first time, I bought chocolate letters from the Dutch Shop. (www.thedutchshop.com) for the girls. This year I bought some for our former foster girls, and all of us. Here are some pictures.
