My baby is growing up

Karen got her ears pierced today. She's been asking us for a year and we finally deemed her ready.

Baby Boy Begins Being Two.

I'm not as good at alliteration as my Mom, but I try!

Curtis turned 2 today. I'll share a couple pictures and will try to get more up soon.

The first picture is his Birth-Minute photo. Exactly 2 years old.

His igloo cake.

Blowing out the candles.

Big Boy Room

We finally decided it was time to move out the cribs (we still had Syndey's in there) and move Curtis to the twin. That was our New Year's Day project. He was pretty thrilled and was dancing all over the place. Naps have been a bit of a struggle, but night time has been easy.... so far!

Mmmm...chocolate

Last year, for the first time, I bought chocolate letters from the Dutch Shop. (www.thedutchshop.com) for the girls. This year I bought some for our former foster girls, and all of us. Here are some pictures.

Christmas Eve

Since we were 'stuck' at home, and eating out didn't seem right, I made dinner. Inspired by a recipe that no where near resembles my ending result (except for chicken), we had a very tasty meal for a whole lot less!

As a friend would say, it's a total fat bomb. I threw in 1/3 cube of cream chese, about 1/3 cup sour cream, a can of cream of mushroom soup and simmered the chicken in it for a few hours. Then when we decided to eat, I took the chicken out and fried it in olive oil, added slivered carrots, garlic and onions. To the cream sauce I added some rosemary, white wine and milk. Simmered some more. Put some spaghetti noodles on. Added wine to the chicken. Then in my new presentation dish from Paul, I layered the noodles, chicken, and sauce. Parsley was sprinkled for color. I have a lot of sauce let so we froze that. It was good. We ate it all because we couldn't have any leftovers. I think Curtis liked it!

The remodel

Since it has been a very long 5 years since the first remodel of Karen's room, we decided it was time for a re-do. Her new thing is TinkerBell. So away we went to the Depot for paint... TinkerBell green no less. Since our flight to Texas was cancelled and delayed until Tuesday, we used our time wisely.

She is very excited about it and has thanked me several times.
