Yet another new outfit

Shortly after the first pictures of me in the 'orange' blouse and white skirt, I realized that the blouse was a bit big. So I exchanged it for this dress, plus $6.

Sunday Flight

Yesterday, the town just across the border had Free Flights for Kids. My friend was taking his daughter and foster boy and invited Karen and I to go. I thought the line would be huge, but by 2:30 it was a short line. And they had several planes going. So we signed them up and all 3 got to go at once. Karen had a lot of fun. They give a certificate and a picture. Here are my pictures:

Thursday

Nothing new going on.... no new pictures to post. But today is my day to go volunteer in Karen's class room. I have so much fun in there. I usually just run the class store, but I do get to help the kids with their math homework. When I walk in, several kids will call out "hi Karen's mom" to me. Some actually remember my real name. I hope that even when Karen is out of Mrs. McKinney's class next year that I can still help her out. She's a great teacher and has been wonderful for Karen.

Next year, since our town can't pass a successful bond measure, our schools will be reconfigured. Instead of K's school being K-2, it'll be K-5, as will the current 3-5 gr school. Both will be K-5. The other K-5 school in town will also be included and the whole town will have new boundaries made. That should mean Karen will continue to go to the same school since we are only 6 blocks away. We don't know what teachers will be here or there.

Did you know both of our TV remotes have rubber bands around the battery cover to keep the batteries in? They've been dropped and fiddled with too many times.

Birthday clothes

I finally got to spend my birthday money from Grandma Lucy. Ain't I pretty??

This is what Curtis was doing while I was posing. He loves that tryke, but his legs aren't log enough. But you've seen his obsession with his bike before.

Demolition Man

Apparently Curtis thought it was time to start our Living Room remodel. Our house is old so it's not sheetrock, but plaster over particle board. It's been cracking with age, heat, and getting hit. I found him behind the couch picking the pieces away. It looks awful, but unfortunately the money isn't there to finish the demo job.

Happy Birthday Papa!!

This last weekend we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday party. He's not been feeling well due to fighting prostate cancer, but thankfully he felt well enough to celebrate with friends and family.

Photo Phun

I am continuing to have so much fun with my new camera. I take a lot of photos, trying to find some really good ones for the fair.
